On Third Shem, the Pantheon of Sable Night disguised itself in the Age of the Master Races as a singular being known as The One True God. When this lie was defeated in the global Uprising of Legends, they retained their new colors and revived Divines, but split into their true selves.

The Webweaver, who was at the heart of this plot, had restored his predecessors as part of a Trinity that ruled the dangers of the night. They were opposed as much by other Night Divines (The Nightbringer, The Dreamer) as those of Day (Dawnbringer, Lightbringer, Swanmother). This Trinity became the supreme Trinity of what they called the Pantheon of the White Crown. The Trinity represents manipulation, ambition, and exploitation of the soul. Exploitation is a primary theme of the Pantheon.

Serving the Trinity are the Vile Ones, the Masked Ones, and the Fell Hunters. The Vile Ones represent ill health, plagues, and the exploitation of the body . The Masked Ones represent hatred, bigotry, division, and the exploitation of the mind. The Fell Hunters represent envy, fear, and apathy, as well as poaching and exploitative hunting, exploitation of the heart, and the winter. These three groups are enforcers of the will of the Trinity.

The Fell Lords are powerful Divines who serve the Trinity as administrators and rulers. They are embodiments of oppression, exploitation, enslavement, and parasitism. They are often the face of the Pantheon which the Trinity hides behind.

And finally there is the Grey Mother, the corrupting force behind the whole Pantheon. She once was obsessed with the Webweaver, believing herself to be in love, but he used her for Ages. When his ruse as the One True God failed, she saw him for what he was. She came into her true power as she used her mastery of undeath to restore the entire Pantheon. She became the shadow-mirror of Mother Shem herself, the corrupted, undead embodiment of necrosis, decay, unliving, undead, manipulative, exploitative power behind the power. She is the exploitation of the Name.

She wears the White Crown that gives the Pantheon its name. This Crown is made of the bones of long-dead Divines, forgotten by all, and gives her immense power and dominion over the Grey Lands, where she dwells.

The Divines:
  • The Webweaver: The most infamous Divine, his evil plans spanned three iterations of Shem. He manipulated the cosmos itself in an attempt to become the only Divine in existence. He still has remnants of the power he once had, and many believe he is still manipulating the cosmos in a long-term plan. Born a Dwonnic elf on First Shem, he became first an undead demiurge, then a Divine after he strangled the Bloodmother to take her place. After he revived his predecessors in the wake of Second Shem as part of a complex plan to shape Third Shem in his image, he created an Age of domination of his evil Pantheon, which he had fused together into one unknowable Divine called the One True God. When this plan was thwarted, he was weakened and became part of the Trinity of Fell Night, which represents many things, including the dangers of the night and exploitation of the soul. The Webweaver himself also represents manipulation, evil, abuse, and control. In the Pantheon, he takes the form of a one-eyed Dwonnic elf wearing shadowy robes with a sulfur-yellow lining. He has pale skin and long, black hair, and on his left arm is branded the image of a white crown.
  • The Serpentmother: Once the original Divine of Darkness, the Serpentmother was revived as an echo on Second Shem in the wake of Starfall. Her second death, however, allowed the Webweaver to capture some of her essence, which he used to restore her as part of the Trinity of Fell Night and the One True God. After his plan failed, she became more independent of his power, a potent Divine in the ostensibly ruling Trinity of the new Pantheon. She embodies the dangers of the night and the exploitation of the soul as do the other Trinity Divines, but also ambition, seduction, sin, control, domination, and evil cunning. In the Pantheon, she takes the form of a succubus with the lower body of a serpent. She has sharp, poisonous fangs, a necklace made of emeralds filled with infernal energies, and claws. Her skin is slightly off-green/white, and her hair is a dark green that is almost black. She has the white crown branded on her left hip.
  • The Bloodmother: The replacement of the Serpentmother was short-lived in her time on First Shem, killed by the Webweaver himself when he chose to take her place. On Second Shem, she was revived as an echo, much as the Serpentmother was, and her essence, too, was partly preserved by the Webweaver so he could restore her for his Trinity and omni-Divine. When they omni-Divine was defeated, she became an independent part of the Trinity, representing exploitation of the soul, the dangers of the night, cruelty, murder, and arrogance. She takes the form of a four-armed woman with the lower body of a squid. She has blood red hair. Her eyes are deep red pits, and her arms end in sharp claws. She has the white crown branded on her right lower back.
  • Hollow Jack: Born a human prince on First Shem, he was cursed to become a monster filled with rats. He eventually became Champion of the Scarab God, then plotted on Second Shem to kill and replace him. As a Divine, he was cunning and ruthless, an able rival to the Webweaver, and the last of the Divines of the Pantheon to be subsumed into the One True God. He survived by sending one of his rats into the depths of the universe. This rat was an integral part of the One True God's downfall. Now, Hollow Jack serves as the spreader of disease, pestilences, and poisons, as well as a skilled exploiter of bodies. He is forced to serve the Trinity as an enforcer of their evil will, but he still plots against them. He appears to be a muscular human in fine clothing with a heavy yellow cloak. Instead of normal insides, he is a suit of skin around a horde of rats. One of the rats has the white crown marked in its fur.
  • The Plaguemaker: The original Divine of Pestilence, he was killed on Second Shem in a plot by Hollow Jack, his former Champion. He was restored as an echo after Starfall, but slain again. The Webweaver captured some of his essence and restored him once more at the end of Second Shem, and now he repays his debt to the Webweaver as his willing servant. He is the embodiment of plague, epidemics, pestilence, miasma, mosquitos, scarabs, swamps, and the exploitation of the body. He is a honored as the Scarab God as well, and he has many slaves. He is close to the Serpentmother, as they were once consorts, but their alliance is secondary to his service to the Webweaver and the Trinity as a whole. In the Pantheon, he appears to be a tall, strong human with the head of a scarab. He wears a robe made of woven gold. He has the white crown on his left lower leg.
  • The Masked God: The Masked God rose up in the wake of the Goblinfather's death on First Shem. He represented a less overt form of hatred, the more subtle, systemic bigotries, divisiveness, and hatreds that exist. As master of prejudice, he represents the exploitation of the mind. He is a violent warrior-god as well as an assassin for the Trinity. He spreads hatred among the world so that they do not unite and achieve their destiny. In the Pantheon, he appears to have an agile human-like body and a red-brass mask with two narrow slits for the eyes and no other features. Few recall what is behind his mask. He has the white crown on the left side of his neck.
  • The Hordefather: The Goblinfather was slain by a legendary heroine called the Queen of Cats. After his death on First Shem, he was revived as an echo on Second Shem. Like the others, he was restored via essence the Webweaver stole from his echo. He, too, serves the Webweaver as a warrior. He represents overt divisiveness, hatred, anger, wrath, and vengeance, as well as violent bigotry as opposed to systemic bigotry. He embodies the angry mob, the evil horde, and the exploitation of the mind. In the Pantheon, he appears to be a massive thyr with red skin and bloodied tusks, riding on a four-headed boar. He has the white crown on his right forearm.
  • The Lord of Nightmare: Taking many forms, the Lord of Nightmare is a being of many fell images, visions of terror. He brings fear to the hearts and minds of the world. In the Pantheon, he takes the form of a shadowy figure riding a three-headed cheval mallet. He has massive, black antlers, and insectoid eyes that burn with green and yellow flame. He hunts for the Trinity, bringing them slaves and foes. He embodies nightmares, fear, terror, horror, and the exploitation of emotions. He has the white crown in the middle of his lower back.
  • The Poacher: Once the Champion of the Green-Eyed Huntress, on Second Shem, she slew and replaced her goddess. Now she is a Divine Huntress herself, representing envy (as opposed to her former goddess, who represents its cousin jealousy). She also represents consumption, covetousness, temptation, and the exploitation of the heart, specifically the manipulation of emotions. She also represents poaching, specifically the taking of food that should be used communally. She is a harsh, evil queen, and she is represented in the Pantheon as a huntress with green antlers and blood-red hunting garb. She takes a feminine form, has green eyes, and black hair. Her form changes between various feminine species. She serves the Trinity as a Hunter, but she plots for her own gain as well. She resents what the Webweaver did to her before Third Shem. She has the white crown on the bottom of her left foot.
  • The Green-Eyed Huntress: Once slain on Second Shem by her former Champion, she was restored by the Webweaver before Third Shem using essence he captured from her in her final days. She embodies jealousy (as distinct from envy), covetousness, thorns, obsession, and cruel vanity. She is a Hunter for the Trinity, and she serves the Webweaver willingly, as she is obsessed with him. She is jealous of the other Divines close to him, and she plots against them. In the Pantheon, she takes the form of a green-eyed huntress wearing a thorn-rimmed hunter's mantle. She takes different feminine forms, but always has arms to use her bow. She has the white crown on the bottom of her right foot.
  • The Wintermother: Representing winter, ice, and apathy, the Wintermother is the only elemental Divine in the Pantheon. She serves as the fourth Hunter of the Trinity, and her province is the bitter north. She rides a nine-legged reindeer and wears heavy furs at all times over her lithe, blue-skinned human-like body. She has a white crown burned onto the back of her neck. She is far more independent than many of the other Divines in the Pantheon, and it is said she has a closer relationship to the Grey Mother than most are aware of.
  • The Slaver Master: Arising out of the chaos after Starfall on Second Shem, the Slave Master was immediately a rival to the Webweaver. Before subsuming him into the One True God, the Webweaver humiliated him. Now, he is relegated to a secondary role as a powerful ruler, but not the true power in the Pantheon. He resents this and plots against the Trinity, but he serves in an administrative role. As his title implies, he owns many slaves. In the Pantheon, he appears to be a specularo with slate-grey clothing and heavy chains worn as a necklace. He has the white crown on his right ankle. He embodies enslavement, exploitation, and oppression.
  • The Exploiter: Once the Hooded God, the Exploiter changed as time went on. Rising out of the wars after Starfall, he was supposed to be a god of criminals, but the depths of his evil drove him to more complex villainy. He became the embodiment of all forms of exploitation, of parasitism, of organized crime, and of wealth. He struck a deal with the Webweaver after Second Shem to be a major part of the One True God, and after the fall, he retained more independence and power than most. He commands a vast empire of organized crime, white collar criminals, and business leaders. He appears as a shemir with orange-and-yellow-flecked dark skin. He wears a suit of finery and has the white crown on his upper right thigh. He is the banker and merchant-prince for the Trinity.
  • The Deceiver: Thousands of years after Starafll, the Deceiver tried to merge herself with the false nephesh Sister Ruiz, but failed. Still, she retained much of the power of this false world, which faded away in favor of the world Echidna (which later merged with Shem to form Third Shem). She was susceptible to the Webweaver's plot because of the unstable nature of her being, but once free of the One True God, she retained incredible power. She embodies deception, lies, illusions, falseness, propaganda, manipulation, exploitation, and abuse. She appears in the Pantheon as a pink-eyed human-like woman with bright pink hair, though her powers of illusion mean she often changes this. She always has the white crown somewhere on her body, though its location changes. She has many different plots underway as she serves the Trinity as their propagandist.
  • The Grey Mother: Once an obsessed victim of the Webweaver who thought herself in love with him, after his fall as the One True God, she saw him for what he was. She went into the Grey Lands and returned with the White Crown, which she had fashioned long ago to give to him as a present. Instead, she wore it herself and used it to become the power behind the entire Pantheon. She embodies corruption, undeath, exploitation of the Name, and control. She appears in the Pantheon as a skull-faced crone wearing robes of grey mist. She draws power through the crown from the rest of the Pantheon and rivals Mother Shem herself in power.
