Description A dilapidated building, usually a house, inn, school, or former prison, asylum, or hospital.
Corruption When someone who owns a property dies in it in a horrific, traumatic, or gory manner, their completely corrupted soul may bond to the building. Other uada domen form when many people die in one place over time, such as in a prison, concentration camp, asylum, or hospital.
Esoterica Uada domen are beings of msawhat. Because the soul is completely corrupted in death, the uada domen retains no powers from life, but begins to take on new arts as it consumes those who die within it. Any art except those of qi, positive emotional resonances, heavenly essences, or the gates is possible.
Special Powers

Anyone within an uada domen will feel a sense of unease. Many who enter an uada domen sense a presence nearby. To see one from outside is to feel fear.

An uada domen can cause cold spot; noises such as such as creaking, knocking, whispers behind the walls, strange unexplained sounds, screams or moans, music, or even indistinct voices; visual illusions; physical pressures, taps, and strikes; draining batteries; shutting off lights; turning on or off plumbing; opening or closing doors; damage to the building; inexplicable repairs; moving objects or even whole rooms; slime, mold, dust, or other unpleasant substances forming inexplicably in the building; opening or closing windows; footprints or footsteps; and alterations to the building.

If someone dies within the uada domen, the undead consumes their Name, or part of it, and begins to take on powers or features from them or corrupt them into raw msawhat to grow more powerful and have more control over the building. Any other undead who enter the uada domen, especially phantasmal undead, can be controlled by the uada domen.

The soul that occupies the building can manifest as a vision to those being haunted. If multiple souls occupy the uada domen, they are bonded together as one very powerful being, but they can manifest individually in visions.

Most uada domen are immune to fire unless a special part of the building (a specific mirror, a piece of furniture, a doorway that is always closed, etc.) is damaged.

Locus Uada domen are people who are bonded to a building they owned and died in, or where they were held against their will and died in. The building is their locus.
Necromancy

To create an uada domen, a necromancer must find a building's owner and kill them within the building in a horrific manner after performing a ritual (30) in the attic, basement, or some dark corner of the building. The ritual requires the caster to take either the deed to the building or some major part of it and cover it in bone dust, blood, and grave dirt, place it within a circle of power, then kill the owner of the building with a bonesilver dagger while invoking the four parts of the owner's Name symbolically (mind, body, heart, soul). If one wishes to cause a place that has already experienced traumatic or horrific death into an uada domen, one must perform a similar ritual invoking the Name or Names of those who died there.

To control an uada domen, one must either find part of the former owner, the deed, or some vital piece of the building and remove it outside the building or grounds, burying it at least three miles away, and invoking the Name or Names of those who died there. To summon one requires phenomenal power (36), for the building itself must be moved. This requires (a) enough space and (b) a ceremony that involves the Name or Names of those who died there and the deaths of an equal number of people as sacrifice.

If one captures the deed or some significant part of the building and buries it in a place they own or have reasonable control over, one can capture the souls of the uada domen and draw its power.

A medium may channel the souls within an uada domen with varying degrees of risk, depending on the power and age of the undead.

Sending Every uada domen has one special part of it that is its core. If it is damaged, the building becomes susceptible to major damages that can't be repaired. If the house is utterly destroyed, the undead will be sent.
Weaknesses Qi and the gates are most effective, but any heavenly essence or positive emotional resonance can harm it.
Behavior Uada domen attempt to push away anyone but the most brave or determined, for they hunger for very special people. Once someone is within them, they first torment and terrorize them to feed off their emotions, then begin to physically harm them for their bodies, then draw them with sounds and voices to feed off their minds, and finally, coax them to horrible acts to take their souls.
Dominion Culture Uada domen are used within the Raesian Dominion as bases of power or storage points. They are a very powerful part of the commoner class.
Other Dominions Uada domen occur in other Dominions. In the Godless, they are often made from destroyed temples. In the Agikaani, they are damned ruins of concentration camps. In Srisian, their shadows are deeper. In the Sangarian, they have stronger physical attacks. In the Fellwood, their fearsome exteriors are stronger and they are often made from inns, and in Pandemonian, they are casinos or shipwrecks. In the Durosian, mental asylums are common, and the mental and emotional attacks are stronger. In Qhanuum, medical facilities are most common, and energies are favored over sights and sounds. In the Kaanian or Dun, hospitals and asylums are common, and diseases and madnesses are commonly inflicted. In Campionese, banks, major businesses, and thieves' dens are common, and in Wapek, even caves are found.
Mortal Interactions Mortals rarely know or use the technical term "uada domen," but they often know when a place is haunted. They tell of--and avoid--haunted houses, buildings, etc. On rare occasions, mortals will seek the truth of these places, or go in on dares, much to their eventual regret.
Afterlife The souls of an uada domen usually must remain in the in-between for Ages before moving on. Redemption is rare but possible if their sender can instill in them any kind of remorse, or if their death was inflicted upon (for prisoners, for instance). Most end up in the Grey Lands or the Hells.
