Supernal Magic

Supernal magic derives from people resisting oppression, exploitation, abuse, and control. It comes from people uniting together. It comes from people building community, being together, mutual support, and love. It is a magic that originated in response to the rise of infernal magic, but its roots existed long before that as people lived in egalitarian, matriarchal communities. It is often split between supernal, prismatic, protective and popular magic.

Supernal, Prismatic, Protective, or Popular

Supernal magic comes from the Supernal Realms, from beings who have achieved a state of goodness, support, egality, defiance to imperial power, uplifting or protective of others, usually via self-sacrifice or acts of incredible kindness or principled resistance, who have become viewed as innately supernal, even if they reached that through hard work, such as angels and rainbow spirits.

Prismatic magic is associated with rainbow spirits, who are beings that give of themselves to uplift others, and thus this is magic that empowers and uplifts. It is magic that inspires, is drawn from art and craft, from works made to open minds, from actions that help others help themselves.

Protective magic is magic used to protect others, to block imperial violence or control, when the strong protect the weak, when the many protect the few, when those who can protect those who are unable to (for any reason), always wielded to help those facing oppression, exploitation, or abuse, or those fighting it.

Popular magic comes from the people. It comes from people supporting one another. It derives from solidarity, resistance, defiance, and rebellion against imperial power. It is the magic of the oppressed and exploited and abused saying "no more", and it works best when many people join together on it.
