| Description | Qatillur appear to be grey, pale, or otherwise discolored versions of their mortal selves with an aura of burning msawhat around them if they walk in pitch darkness. Their tongues become bone-like whips with blades on them. |
| Corruption | A person who kills multiple people, usually a serial killer, spree killer, or other intentional mass murderer, then dies without facing any kind of justice, may be corrupted into becoming a qatil if they kept a bone from one of their victims. |
| Esoterica | Qatillur are beings of msawhat and Raesian energies. Any power they had in life they retain, though most are corrupted, save those of qi, the gates, or heavenly essences. They can learn new powers in undeath, most often they learn to use powers of |
| Special Powers | Qatillur cause unease in those who are near them. Every qatil has a cutting, slashing, or stabbing weapon made of some of the bones of one of their victims; these weapons drain lifeforce and can cut through most mundane metals easily. The aura of a qatil burns always but is only visible in the dark; it corrupts those who willingly get close to the qatil. Their tongues are sharp and bone-like. Every qatil has three of the following powers: stunning gaze, heart sense, blood-controlling hand seals, grey mist form, organ-ripper tongue, giant moth form, summon phantasm, entrancing whistle, aura of cold, grey lightning breath, summon onoskeli, or phase through matter. Qatillur gain powers as they kill, especially if their kills are similar to the way they killed in life, eventually having every power listed above. |
| Damnation | The number of victims a qatil had in life determines their damnation. Three to five victims means they have the power to command shamblers or phantoms. Six to nine victims means they have the power to shapeshift into a bony centipede the same length as their height. Ten to 15 victims gives them the power to become invisible once a month for three nights. Sixteen to 25 victims means they have the power to create explosions of msawhat with a snap of their fingers. Twenty-six to 36 victims means they have the power to control moderately powerful undead of their Dominion. Thirty-seven to 50 victims means they have the power to teleport 100 miles at a time, nine times a year. And so on. |
| Necromancy | To intentionally become a qatil, a killer must collect some of the bones of at least one of their victims and craft some kind of weapon from them, usually a knife, sword, or spear. They then must use this in at least one ritual (19) kill. After this, they must evade capture and justice; if they are somehow rehabilitated even in a small way, they must perform the ritual again to become a qatil. Summoning a qatil requires speaking the names of their victims into a mirror at midnight. Controlling them requires having the bones of another of their victims. Capturing and drawing their power requires placing their bone-weapon in a crystal jar called a qurban. |
| Sending | Stabbing a qatil with their bone-weapon will destroy them. |
| Weaknesses | Qi and the gates energies are especially effective, but all heavenly essences can send them and some positive emotional resonances can harm them. |
| Behavior | A qatil continues to kill as they did in life, targeting the same kind of victims, killing in the same way, stuck in a cycle of killing over and over. They are often driven to the edges of societies, where they stalk the vulnerable. |
| Dominion Culture | Qatillur are considered dangerous warriors, lower-ranking because of their volatility, in the Raesian Dominion. |

| Mortal Interactions | Qatillur hunt mortal victims as they did in life, and as such, mortals often believe they are the killer returned or that the killer was never really dead. |
| Afterlife | There is no redemption for a qatil; they spend an Age or so in the in-between before moving on to the Hells or the Grey Lands. |
