Perhaps the safest form of msawhat use, necromancy is the communing with the dead (or undead) to learn from them or speak with them. Seances, ouija boards, and mediums all perform this art relatively safely (though all risk the undead taking control or corrupting them somewhat). More powerful forms of necromancy include rituals of communication that require violations of the laws of life and death or that insult life itself. These rituals cause much more damage to the user's soul, but also grant them much more significant communications with the dead.
