Magicians

A magician is a person with innate magical powers. They are extremely rare, mostly being of the cunning. Magicians can use other styles of magic, such as rituals or grimoires, but these are not necessary. All they need is themselves and a wand through which to channel their power.

Innate Magic

Some rare few people are born with mana within them. Other than the cunning, these folk are extremely rare and usually anomalies. It cannot be bred for, genetically arranged, or predicted. One born with innate magic will have specific powers related to the magic they are born with, usually.

Wands

A wand allows a magician to channel their innate magic. Without it, any attempt to use magic will be wild and uncontrolled. Wands are made of wood, bone, or antler, and the material affects the magic used. Different wands are good for different spells as well. Most magicians carry up to 11 wands.

Rituals

Magicians sometimes use rituals to wield mana for very strong spells, but these always involve their wands. They will draw a magical circle with their own mana and use the ritual to draw in more power.

Robes

Like mages, magicians wear enchanted robes to protect themselves from backlash and other magic.

Directed Energies

For a magician's magic to affect something, it must hit it. They cannot simply cast a spell and then have the effect take place. The energy they wield must flow outward and strike the target.
