| Description | Halders appear to be anthropomorphic sponges. Their bodies are made entirely of sponge. They have arms and legs and a head, but their bodies can reform into other shapes at will. |

Some are photosynthetic, but most absorb food from the small creatures that swim through or past them in the waters. Halders have spicules, spiny frames that help support them, which they can also release from their bodies and use as weapons, and they have toxins they can release into the waters as well. |

| Culture | Halders live in small communities throughout the underwater realms. They have no real social structures, for there is no strong need even for parental care of children. They simply grow, absorb, and grow some more. In temperate to arctic waters, they live about 100 years, but in warmer waters, they live upwards of 500 years. |
