The Sword of Arc Lightning was forged by the Storm God in the early days of Shem, fashioned from two lightning bolts that had tried to escape his cloud fortress. He bound them together and placed them in a hilt made of the remains of the tree they had killed. He then gave the Sword to his son, the Storm Prince, and bid him use it to serve the world. Instead, the Storm Prince foolishly used it to savage beasts and men, flying through the sky with the storms, casting down lightning in long chains. The Storm God was displeased, but he gave Ceronius another chance. Again, Ceronius went out and misused the Sword, this time sticking it into a pond and killing all the fish within, for fun. The Storm God was angry and punished Ceronius, but his son's contrition calmed his heart, and he gave him a last chance. This time, Ceronius rode with sailors on the high seas, and there he used his Sword to protect them from reevers. For years, he guarded the sailors, and he became a beloved figure on the seas.

Angry with him for thwarting her plans, the Serpent Mother gave unto one of her reever servants a song that would lure in the Storm Prince. Using it, he was seduced by a succubus on the reever's ship, and the Sword stolen. When he realized what he had done, Ceronius swore never again to love a mortal, a vow he kept til Second Shem...

As a stabbing sword, its damage is independent of STR:
