| Description | At birth, all dragons look like large, pink worms. At maturity, dragons grow to be serpent beasts with human heads, four great legs, massive drum-like bellies, and emerald green scales. |
| Procreation | Dragons mate with each other only. Without intense supernatural interference, half-dragons are an impossibility. Dragons lay one to three eggs at a time. Upon hatching, a dragon immediately begins absorbing background energies. All dragon eggs are filled with pure, liquid draconic energy, which sustains the baby dragon upon hatching. |
| Esoterica | Emerald dragons absorb sound and radiance (euphonious sound) in vast quantities. They also often have dumaqu, heavenly light, Foundation, and to a lesser extent, hegnh. They commonly also have qi and nommic energies. Some forms of aether are more common (temporal, currents, winds). Divine energies are common, as are possibility and creativity resonance. Other resonances are common, especially love, compassion, and inspiration. Unholy energies are impossible. |

All dragons accumulate energies by absorbing them naturally from the area around them. As such, they must carefully cultivate their lairs to provide the right kinds of energies, hence they hoard appropriate objects. Other common powers include sonic blast, distant whisper, song of powerful beauty, emotional symphony, and unifying beat. |

| Subspecies | Symphonic dragons are emerald dragons who have absorbed more euphonious sound than others. They appear to be much like their brethren, but with reptilian heads that shimmer with constant vibration. They have a more melodic breath weapon, a whole symphony of voices, and the power to turn into echoing sound. |
| Culture | Emerald dragons lay their eggs in the lakes of temperate islands, deep under the water. They raise the young together, teaching them the songs of their traditions, and showing them wonders. Every year, they hold a festival of song, during which they mate for the coming year. At maturity, emerald dragons develop their own voices. If their voices meet in harmony with the rest of their community, they remain, and if not, they depart to find one where they do harmonize. In old age, emerald dragons fade slowly into sound, served by those they love. In the islands and surrounds, they make alliance with local communities to provide food, protection, and hoard. |
