The Hu'liniqar |
In asterian cosmology, this is the lair of the massive Spacewurm, an annelid so vast it is measured in lightyears. There is some evidence they may be correct. |
Generally associated with the Cosmic Leviathan, Hu'liniqar demands to be referred to by said word, which has no translation. It appears to be a title, like "Emperor" or "Champion." Occasionally, it is referred to with the definite article "the," but not generally. Hu'liniqar speaks Kyellezhian, though it is said that there was a time it did not--stories tell of its learning it from early Kyellezhians. It also speaks asterian, lunarian, and four unknown languages. It often confuses Kyellezhians with asterians, but never with lunarians. It has never been ascertained if it possesses either of those races as well. It wants to be served, but it often sends vessels on strange missions, or orders those around the vessel on strange missions, usually to acquire something that turns out to be useful to the vessel. It is known also sometimes as the Liar, for it will blatantly lie to those around the vessel about inconsequential matters, and it never seems to care or notice if it is called out for these lies. It has an innate sense for what others need and want. |

The Horned Snake |
In asterian cosmology, this is a warrior who could break through any metal or stone with their fist. They were the one who developed the skills of the miqinchir and taught them to other asterians, and they died in battle at the side of the War-Mother and became starlight. Comets are often seen flying across this constellation, hence the association. |
Generally associated with the Comet, the Horned Snake is a violent, dangerous ZM. It both hates and creates obstacles. It will shatter walls and doors and mountains if it must, but for every obstacle it destroys, three will appear, generally of the abstract variety. It leaves its vessels mentally incapacitated for a time. It never speaks intelligible language, but visions that accompany its arrival always entail a great horned serpent in the sky that follows the vessel. It has the power to telekinetically destroy barriers (30ish power), and it always knows the weak point of a physical barrier. |

The Colossus |
In asterian cosmology, this is a Champion of their people who died on Shem and was flung back into the stars. |
Generally associated with the Meteorite, the Colossus is thought to be huge even by astronomical standards. It seeks nourishment as soon as it takes over a vessel, and when it is sated (having eaten twice what the vessel can normally eat), it seeks then to prove itself great to those around it. It is proficient in all weapons it has ever been seen to wield, and it can teach its vessel how to use them with incredible speed. It can knows sealcasting, with Cosmos at 19, Travel at 13, Moons at 15, and Weather at 19. |

The Quiet One |
In asterian cosmology, this is an unknown being who watches the asterians as they travel. It taught them astral projection. |
Generally associated with the Cloudwalker, the Quiet One never, ever speaks. It hates noise. It seeks a perfect silent moment with which to contemplate the universe. It enhances the awareness of its vessel to godlike levels, but it never stays long (about a minute or so is the average). It is pure chance if this awareness is directed outward, inward, or both. It also has the power to invoke silence around it through sheer presence. |

The Nameless Pilot |
In asterian cosmology, this is the War-Mother's lover and the first plicator. He became starlight when she did, as he could not leave her side. He is said to be guiding her home. |
Generally associated with the Sailor, the Nameless Pilot is a catalyzer, one who facilitates travel and movement. It likes speed and it likes to direct things, but it does not have to be a physical movement. The movement of ideas, systems, narratives, pasts, prophecies, governments... anything real or abstract. It wants movement for the sake of movement. It apparently knows The Queen of Faerie. Known powers: 20 Travel Magic (Sealcasting), perfect direction sense. It also has the power to be where it wasn't a moment ago innately, which is how it dodges. |

The Warbler |
Those born in the fourth year, ninth month, or third hour of the day will be attuned to this constellation. In asterian cosmology, she was an elven starsinger who became one with starlight when her nation ascended. |
Generally associated with the Singer, the Warbler sounds like a Kyellezhian warbler (a songbird). It can speak to any birds it meets, but not to anything else. It is utterly dedicated to the arts. It sings constantly in its bird-like voice. Its movements include the flourishes of a beautiful dancer. When it encounters objects (including people), it takes action to beautify them according to a synthesis of its alien aesthetic and the aesthetics of those around it, which it absorbs empathically. This can take the form of mutilation if those around it have malice in their hearts, but otherwise it is harmless. It is skilled in hundreds of crafts. It prefers to use tools and materials from the environment to achieve its goals, folding space to summon them to its position. It is also known to be a skillful lovemaker. |

Generally associated with the Blade, the Killer is exactly what it sounds like. Its only goal is to kill. It does not go away until it has killed someone or something. Animal, plant, fungi, intelligent or not, it must kill. It is incredibly strong and swift, and it is very skilled with any weapon or unarmed (PRO 30, ATH 25, STR 30). It speaks no known languages, though it speaks conversationally in strange tongues as it kills. |

The Stranger |
In asterian cosmology, the Source is a fountain that flows with qeernariji from the center of the universe, and the constellation is a guide to how to get there. None have ever been recorded going there. |
Generally associated with the Source, the Stranger is both familiar and unfamiliar. It seems at first to be just like its vessel, but small differences will crop up. It will be left handed instead of right, or it will have different taste in music, or it will have a strange accent. No one has ever been able to understand what the Stranger wants, not even its vessels. It might be controlled entirely by whim, or it might be purely chaotic, or it might just be too weird to understand. Anything is possible under the influence of the Stranger. Its most commonly used powers include telepathy at 25, ventriloquism, and a deep understanding of many philosophical points of view that have bizarre references. It can also speak three languages that no one has ever identified. The Stranger's influence typically lasts between 3 days and can last up to a month. |

The Twelve-Headed Beast |
In asterian cosmology, this was the first dragon from Shem who arose into the stars and fed on starlight, becoming a friend to asterians. It eventually became starlight when it ascended. |
Generally associated with the Dragon, the Beast speaks with twelve voices from one mouth, though not always at the same time. It has a commanding presence, and it expects to be obeyed. Each head speaks a different language, but only five of them are understood by Kyellezhians with any depth, and three others have been worked out a little bit (most Kyellezhians will understand the gist of them). It demands tribute in the form of food, usually, and sacrifices. It wants to be honored and obeyed and feared. It has the power to fold space like an asterian, but with its mind, and it can use it both over great distances and in minute spaces. |

The Bowed |
In asterian cosmology, this is the massive kujuta bull who carries the cosmos, reflected in the dark sky. |
Generally associated with the Star-Carrier, the Bowed causes its vessels to act as if they are carrying a great weight. It seeks to alleviate some mysterious burden, spreading the burden out amongst any in the vicinity. It does not leave until its vessel can walk upright. Its method of spreading the burden varies greatly by each visit. It might be by sharing its vessels troubles with those around it, or it might be by finding heavy things to make others hold, or it might be by shifting responsibilities in a certain system, or any other literal or metaphorical way of altering burden--it will never be more than one way on a single visit, however. It speaks not at all, but inspires its vessel to speak for it through urges and emotional cues. |

The Colony of a Thousand Faces |
In asterian cosmology, this was the first domesticated tricow, who served the Manifest and helped her feed her crew. For his sacrifice, he was made into a constellation. |
Generally associated with the Stargazer, the Colony of a Thousand Faces seems to be a colonial being. It is vast, and when it affects one Kyellezhian, it generally strikes at least five or six others nearby. These will often act as a single unit. The goal of the Colony seems to be finding a home, and it will generally stop whatever the vessel is doing and begin its search. Its specifications for a home seem to be something much bigger than is available to most Kyellezhians. It seeks bigger and bigger things, palaces, mountains, etc. In space, it seeks asteroids or moons or huge ships. Its memory is also vast, stretching back as one unit through over 2 million years, it seems, and events from these memories sometimes play out as real through the vessel. It can know the size of anything it sees to within a few micrometers/micrograms/microliters. It has the ability to spread itself over many Kyellezhians (it has never connected to non-Kyellezhians before), and it speaks strange and familiar tongues. |

The Spear-Bearer |
In asterian cosmology, the Guru is a wise asterian who advised the Manifest on how to reach the other end of the galaxy. He became a constellation rather than die. |
Generally associated with the Sage, the Spear-Bearer is one of the few with a recognizable gender. She is feminine. She is also cunning, with incredible skill at assessing situations. She understands complex concepts easily, and she has great common sense. She is proficient in the use of a spear (25) and she knows every language she has ever encountered. Her intentions seem to be to win a game none of her vessels truly understand, but everyone and everything they meet is part of it. She thinks incredibly longterm, and when she analyzes a move, her vessels get visions of chain reactions of events that go on for millennia. Her three basic moves, though, when engaging in her game are "kill" (if she has a spear), "befriend", or "ignore." |
