Description Clupeans are slender, bipedal, tailed anthropomorphic herrings. They have a small, soft dorsal fin without spines and an anal fin on their tails. Their lower jaws protrude, and they have huge genitals.
Procreation Once every three years, clupean tribes have a great, communal mating dance in their village. Their matings are staggered so that only one village per month is mating in any given area.
Magic One in twenty million have heart or soul magic. Mind and body magic are common. Void is impossible. Faith is not uncommon. Aether use is not unheard of. Other powers are possible but rare.
Special Powers Clupeans are talented at spellswimming, a variation on spelldancing that is otherwise identical to the land-dwellers' art. They live in large schools which work together to form vast patterns in their swimming grids. Their oily scales make them very sleek and swift underwater.
Weaknesses Void can kill them.
Culture Clupeans live in vast schools that work together to hunt, defend their tribes, cast spells, and take care of their young, having intricate swimming grids for every activity. There are three main types of clupean: Palhuric, Wyren, and Great Southern. The Great Southern are the rarest and is of moderate size. The Palhuric are medium sized, and the Wyren are larger. However, there is a subtype of the Wyren, the Indigo, which are the smallest.
