| Description | Brimstone gargoyles appear to be sleek monsters made of brimstone, stinking of sulfur, with great bat wings, bat-pig faces, tusks or angler fangs, tails of snakes, claws of badgers, six sets of spidery eyes, and a tongue made of flame. They stand about 8' tall. |
| Procreation | New brimstone gargoyles must be chiseled from brimstone. |
| Esoterica | Being crafted from infernal powers, brimstone gargoyles have an affinity for infernal arts, especially demonfire. They are also fond of arnum, mana, rubedian aether, earthpower aether, rending, entropy, doom, fate, damaskian power, gebvel, and mashoaab. |
| Special Powers | Brimstone gargoyles can bind to a place only if it has been marked by evil--if there is infernal, shadow, or arnic energy there, if a murder has been committed, if it is a place of genocide, slavery, or rape, or if it is dedicated to an evil Divine. If they bind to a place, they usually try to take it over. If someone or something else controls or owns it, the gargoyle must enter a contest to own it or be enslaved to it. Brimstone gargoyles can sense danger within their domain. They breath sulfuric gas and their stench can harm weaker stomachs. Their burning tongues are very long (about 5') and can be used as a fiery whip. If they own their own domain, it will not be destroyed if they live. If they do not own their domain, they are damaged if the domain is damaged. |
| Stasis | Brimstone gargoyles only go into stasis at the command of their master or if they are so poweful they feel they should extend their lifespans. The above listed lifespan does not count years in stasis. |
| Weaknesses | Heavenly energies can kill them. |
| Culture | Crafted to protect places of evil, they seek them out and bind to these territories to protect them. They did this so successfully in the Kulgoram region that they took it over. They live in a country of a thousand petty tyrants, none of them answering to the others. They meet only to trade, fight, or craft new gargoyles, often as a cunning plan to have an upperhand somehow. New brimstone gargoyles are enslaved until they can break free, usually after about 500 years. If they are strong enough, they then form their own territories. If not, they are re-enslaved by another being or they can be hired for service, if they are smart enough to make this offer. |
