Avery Against Kashaji, yes. it's been an...eventful day, and he crashed hard from adrenalin
Dionysus What's Avery's worst fear?
Avery ...that civitello will win and he'll lose all semblance of control of himself.
Dionysus Civitello is there before you, reading a book. His voice sounds nothing like Civitello's, though. Instead, he sounds like a high pitched, nasal madman on the verge of revealing some great secret. "Christos. Very close to the edge there, weren't you?"
- Avery freezes. does he have to answer?
Dionysus No.
Avery then he doesn't.
Avery "what...what are you doing here...?"
Dionysus "Very fortunate for you the genie sought to protect you from death. But on Merukis, they will bear steel blades. I'm visiting. This is a Nightmare. It's my domain."
- Avery tenses. "What do you want?"
Dionysus "To twist you into my strongest minion & forge you into the King of the Unseelie. But only after I send you to Hell."
- Avery narrows his eyes. "Why?"
Dionysus "Sadly, I won't be able to do that if you die at the hands of a reever. So I thought I'd let you know: I've contracted the Wild Hunt to track you down. Why?" he laughs, "Because you are faerie, & I am Nightmare."
Avery Avery wouldn't know what the Wild hunt is, would he?
Dionysus I very much doubt it.
Avery "The...what?"
Dionysus "Demons. Here, at least, they are demons. Other places, they take other forms. They gather the Teind, the faeries owed to Hell. They create the Unseelie, which will be mine when I am part of this world."
- Avery bristles slightly. "I'm not owed to anything."
Avery "Or anyone."
Dionysus "You are. You always have been. You always will be. Welcome to the world of the fae: glamour & grace & beauty & mind-numbing fear for the rest of time."
Dionysus He laughs a shrill, evil laugh.
- Avery glares at him, an even mix of anger and fear.
Dionysus "I warned both your little girls. You will be mine one day, Christos."
Avery "Fuck you."
Dionysus "Tsk tsk. Your mother didn't teach you words like that."
Avery "I never met her."
Dionysus He laughs, "Hope you never do. She's a shallow, uptight bitch, I assure you."
- Avery just glares defiantly. he has no intention of ever belonging to /anyone/.
Dionysus "Civitello" stands, slams the book shut, & waves his hands. You are in the Hells. There's no other word for it.
Dionysus The world is a hazy orange, drenched in black smoke, & you see what must be faeries--graceful beings, beautiful, shining, being torn to shreds & branded with black tar, cut & tormented, & maimed & scarred. "Here are the Forges."
- Avery takes a step back, feeling a bit sick.
Dionysus "This is your fate. When we're done with you, you will be the new Prince of Nightmare."
Avery "Never."
Dionysus "You'll learn to love it. The taste of fear."
Avery "No!"
Dionysus He laughs, "You cannot escape your fate, Christos."
- Avery says nothing for a moment, thinking of Arsul. "...this is not my fate."
Dionysus "You can run, but you can't hide."
Dionysus He laughs.
Avery "This is not my fate." stronger in tone. he stands straighter.
Dionysus He gently pushes you, & you fall screaming into the Pit. You wake up.
