Stinking stone creatures.
Brimlings are 3’ to 4’ tall beings with sulphuric flesh. They have bulky, rocky bodies, and their faces are a mix of bat, pig, and badger, but stony instead of furry. They have stubby, flat tails like a beaver.
Brimlings can turn into liquid sulphur or sulphuric gas at will, doing each thrice per day. If they do not return to solid form within ten minutes, they risk being stuck for the rest of the day in their gas or liquid form.
Brimlings can spew a stream of sulphuric acid. Their claws and teeth are poisonous. And their stench makes people wretch.
Brimlings are infernal beings who live near volcanoes, often used by imperials for their armies. Those in the mortal realms not in service to imperial powers find themselves disliked and confused for demons, though they have the ability to be kind and good without transforming or “rising”. Culturally, they are selfish, spiteful loners, only serving those strong enough to force them to serve, and in the empires, they tend to be resentful of the mistreatment they experience, but still isolated from other oppressed peoples.
If a player chooses to be a brimling, they need to be one willing to break free of their old culture somewhat.

Small bug-like terata who have tempers.
Humbug are 3’ tall beings with bulging insectoid eyes, sticky claws, and chitinous bodies. They have antennae. They are otherwise hominid, with human-like legs and big furry feet. One in a thousand have insectoid wings.
Humbugs are constantly annoyed and angry. They can alleviate this in one of two ways: displacing it onto others or by helping others. Culturally, they seek out and engage in the former far more often, to the point that most have no idea the latter is even possible. If a humbug engages in helping others and realizes they can be alleviated this way, they are often called liars and ostracized by their families, who rely on their powers of annoyance to make money. However, they also gain special powers that help others if they start doing so. A helpful humbug is called derogatorily a bughum, but some embrace the title. They are still the same species.
A humbug can vanish twice a day, becoming insubstantial for thirty seconds. They can move objects within 20’ with a spoken charm. They are able to sense what is the most frustrating change they can make to an area innately (where to move the toy so someone steps on it, how to shift a desk so someone runs into it, how to make the paintings off-center, etc.).
Humbugs can see in the dark.
Humbugs live in small family units, usually dwelling in slums and other crowded areas, where they can sneak into homes, businesses, or other places where they can mess things up and cause frustration in others to alleviate their own annoyance. They are often hired by slumlords and the rich to cause troubles in areas for the purposes of driving people out.
Humbugs are culturally embedded in most imperial societies and nuissances used against the unsuspecting. The rich often pay them for their services or to make them go away, while the poor and oppressed have to beg for help in getting rid of them. They are treated as pests by everyone, but they are proud of it.

Incustians can shape mundane or infernal metals with their hands, without melting it. They are immune to heat and cold, and they can see in the dark. Their claws can rend stone. All incustians consume stone for nourishment. Their shells are very strong and can resist cave-ins.
Incustians live in massive cities underground, where their rulers are powerful miner barons, and their oppressed are miners. They make their cities out of metals, including gold, and they are known for their splendor. Incustians in the empires are either there as mining barons and experts, or privileged mine workers.

Spuckers are 4’ to 5’ tall beings with red skin, pointed ears, pig snouts, and clawed hands. They have no hair and yellow eyes. Their backs have spines down them.
Spuckers have the ability to spit out red slime that makes anyone who touches it distrust, hate, dislike, or otherwise have negative thoughts and feelings towards anyone too different from them. Spuckers’ claws and spines have a toxin in them that cause people to lose their capacity to love temporarily. Using their slime always causes them to lose capacity for some positive emotion.
Spuckers are a powerful ruling class species who live in eastern wastelands, mountains, deserts, and urban centers. They are employed by more powerful people to held spread division and hatred, or they use it for themselves. Those who refuse to use this power usually end up with too much positive emotional capacity and lose the ability to wield it eventually; these spuckers are enslaved or killed.

Sinkhole dwellers.
Sunken ones are 4’ to 8’ tall hominids with gooey flesh covered in sand, sludge, slime, mud, and muck. They have no necks, and their heads are dominated by huge, round mouths full of teeth and two large, slimy tongues. Their eyes are on small stalks coming off the back of their heads; they have at least two and at most four at a time. If one breaks off, it regrows. Their arms end in leech-like appendages.
Sunken ones feed on blood and flesh. They lurk in sinkholes, waiting for it. They can swim through dirt and stone like a fish, and they can cause sinkholes by exuding their slime into solid ground. They do not need to breathe, and they are resistant to heat and cold.
Sunken ones can absorb the luck of those they eat, altering their own.
Sunken ones are said to be people who were cursed, but there’s no evidence of that. There is evidence they evolved from some elemental terata, but it’s unclear which ones. Not all sunken ones prey on intelligent beings, but those that do are most well known. They live in small, brutal groups that hunt together. They have adapted to urban life, becoming sewer dwellers who warn the imperials of weak parts of the city. Their original culture is a subterranean aquatic culture that focused on hunting large prey like aurochses and elephants, but that is long forgotten.
